Study on Reducing Common Cold Days: According to several important studies on the common cold, by using zinc Lozenges within a day or two from a common cold's onset, you can reduce the number of common cold days in half. Zinc lozenges taken at the first sign of a sniffle may also stop the common cold before it starts. Taken daily, zinc lozenges have been shown to significantly reduce the possibility of getting a common cold.
Common Cold Prevention Study: In a randomized, double-blind study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (7/00) and conducted at the Detroit Medical Center in Michigan, common cold duration was effectively cut from 8.1 to 4.5 days. The duration of coughs was reduced from 6.3 days for the placebo group to 3.1 days for those using zinc acetate lozenges. Another study published in the American Journal of Therapeutics (11/02) showed that daily use of zinc lozenges can help prevent a common cold by dramatically reducing the number of common colds an individual suffers from by as much as 68%.
Note: Research has shown that the most effective forms of zinc lozenges are made from zinc acetate and zinc gluconate. Other forms such as zinc citrate may make your cold worse!
SUGGESTED USAGE
Slowly dissolve one Zinc Acetate Drop in your mouth every two wakeful hours. Adults should not exceed 12 lozenges per day. Youths should not exceed 9 lozenges per day. Children under 60 pounds should take 1/2 lozenge every two hours, not to exceed 6 lozenges per day. Always allow the lozenges to completely dissolve in mouth.
